Old age bondage

Posté par Gflu le 12.08.05 à 01:11
There was a very interesting paper in Libération the other day about Charles François Jeandel's collection of cyanotypes (a special technique for taking photographs). Charles François Jeandel (1859 - 1942) was a honourable member of the Archeological Society of Charente. With his wife Madeleine (left picture), he seemed to have a quiet life in the countryside. Or not (right picture). Charles and Madeleine didn't have any children. It's a miracle that this album didn't get lost or finish in the hands of a private connaisseur... Today, the collection belongs to the Musée d'Orsay. The blue cyanotyped pictures give a touch of morbid mystery to these very special scènes de campagne : no one will ever know who's really dominating / dominated... Notice the solid wooden frame on a lot of the pictures : as in japanese kinbaku, the erotic fantasy has something to do with penal punishment. The french translation could be something like... guillotine ?

Our "side-project" Gnomz.com (edited by les éditions hybrides, just like fluctuat.net), has been selected to represent France in the e-Entertainment section of the World Summit Awards, "a global contest for selecting and promoting the World's best e-contents and applications. It sees the bridging of the Digital Divide and narrowing of the Content Gap as its overall goal and - as of today - involves representatives from 168 countries on each continent".
Hurray ! Lets keep our fingerz crossed...
