Aeiou team is sad. François-Xavier Verschave just died yesterday from cancer disease. Very smart, this fellow was also much useful in today French society : he wrote several books in the last few years to denounce the economic relationship between French politicians and African dictators, mostly based on African oil ressources extracted by Elf, the huge French oil company. Thanks to guys like him, French people were more aware of the illegitimate way their government is dealing with former colonies. Verschave was an economist, the BBC reported some news about him, here and there (in good English !)
LINK A wiki story of net art Jacques Perconte just launched a wiki story of net art, bringing Natalie Bookchin's a story of net art (1999, open source) to the joys of mutli-publication. Starting in 1994 with Hot Pictures - curated by Alexei Shulgin - where will all that take us to ? Change, edit, mystify : on the Internet, nobody knows you're a historian.LINK I'm looking for a hard bearded woman

"I had a splendid beard, curly, abundant, which opened out in double panache". The Journal of Clémentine Delait was found recently by an old man in a boot fair (story - in french - and photo). Clémentine Delait was proud to be bearded. In 1904, she had to ask the government for special permission to wear men's clothing. An incredible life for a incredible woman (take a look at this page, in french). Hope her journal will be edited...LINK Microsoft vs. Sony : The Laundry Battle

![]() Promoting it's new PSP (the platform is not yet available in France), Sony opened a showroom called "The Factory" in Paris, Place de l'Etoile. Just accross the road stands a laundry (right, on photo). With a touch of espieglery, Microsoft hired the place to stick big ads on the shop (left), saying with quite a sense of humor : "Keep your forces for Winter". Of course, that's when the Xbox 360 is meant to come out. And of course, this type of advertisement displeased Sony... After one day of corporate blasphemy, the stickers were removed (right photo again). No lawsuit, no scandal, just a big cheque from Sony. This nice story of laundry battling made the laundry worker a bit richer. Which is a good point. LINK Palais de Tokyo
