Movements of Air is an exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay with photographs by physician and physiologist Etienne-Jules Marey (1830-1904). The smal amount of works may be a bit frustrating... but if you want to dive into Marey's laboratory, you should visit this superb online exhibition presented by the forthcoming Maison du Cinéma.

LINK Hype Gallery in ParisPosté par Gflu le 26.11.04 à 16:19
After Brick Lane in London, "HYPE is bursting back into active life - now with a new french twist" (Link). It's in Palais de Tokyo, and it's not going so easy... people here are not very happy with the way a public institution (PdT) is hosting an exhibition organised by Publicis - french communications group - and Hewlett Packard. Accusations focuse on the obligation for submitted works to contain the HP letters, and vilify the submission rules (no "pornographical submissions"... what about pornography in art ?). Moreover, the whole concept of the exhibition is being criticised, stigmatized as a Pop Idol for visual arts... In spite (or thanks) to this polemic, the exhibition is crowded. Works are uploaded here, "ennemies" of the Hype are ready for the counter-act : a group named "Société réaliste" attempted a stencel-key attack against the -y-e Gallery ! (see photo here).

"Silophone makes use of the incredible acoustics of Silo #5 [in Montréal] by introducing sounds, collected from around the world using various communication technologies, into a physical space to create an instrument which blurs the boundaries between music, architecture and net art".
Upload your sound in the Silo ! A new project by [The User], known for their "Symphony for dot matrix printers". LINK Some time of available human brainPosté par Puck le 11.11.04 à 19:13
"There are many ways of talking about television. But in a business context, let's be realistic: basically, TF1's job is to help Coca-cola, for example, to sell its product". The lapsus (?) of Patrick Lelay, CEO of TF1 (French TV channel), is transposed to the insane world of mind "googlesizing" by the french artist Christophe Bruno. Cruel cruel world...
